Obituary of Eileen Susan Koegler

Pattersonville – Eileen Susan Koegler, 73, passed away Monday January 17, 2022. Born to Francis Murray and Frank Groat, she was raised by Ralph and May Hoyle in Galway. Eileen first married George Varsany, and when Eileen was still a young mother, George passed away. In time, she grew to love George's friend John. Eileen and John Koegler were married on April 2, 1977. Eileen's first choice of April Fool's Day was refused by the Pastor, one of many examples of her quirky sense of humor. Eileen worked as a caregiver her entire career. She proudly achieved LPN certification later in life, most recently working as a visiting nurse. Eileen enjoyed vacationing on Lake George particularly at Camp Wiawaka, and loved taking road trips with her husband John. She was a lover of books, crafting and watching John garden. She volunteered through church for years, and considered Amity a second home. Sunday dinners with family also held a special place in her heart, especially when her desserts were served. Eileen is survived by John Koegler, children: Elizabeth Varsany, Benjamin (Katrina) Koegler and Sally (Ian) Carter, grandchildren: Nathaniel Robinson, Krystal and Brennan Koegler and Bruiser her beloved Chihuahua. She is also survived by her sister, Sharon Planer, sister, Joan Peugh and many new found family members she was delighted to discover. The funeral service will be Saturday 12:00 noon at Amity Reformed Church, 335 Riverview Rd., Rexford, NY 12148. Calling hours will precede the service on Saturday, 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be made to Amity Reformed Church in her name.
