Obituary of Sheryl Ann Thompson

Sheryl Ann Thompson Laduke June 27, 1957 – January 23, 2022 Sheryl Ann, the daughter of the late Johanna and Orville Deitz and the mother of the late David Saxby, Jr. passed away peacefully at Ellis Hospital after a short illness. Sheryl was a lifelong resident of Schenectady, NY but frequently left the state to travel. She loved road trips. Sheryl had a heart of gold and loved everyone around her. She loved being surrounded by others, entertaining and being the life of the party. Always giving and doing for others, she was the world's grandmother, mother and aunt. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Oquendo (Hector Gomez), grandchildren: Zachary Kelley, Cassandra Naldli, Jerric Fillmore, Devin Saxby, Lilly & Athena Goodman, James the 4th, Atisa and Alisha Manzer, Ernest Laduke III and Ezra Daniel and her great granddaughter Annalia Andino. She is also survived by her siblings: Orvie Deitz, Jerry Deitz, Joann Dunn, Sandi Deitz, Mark Deitz, Louise Giovannone, Joey Giovannone, Nick Giovannone, Scotty Deitz, Jason Deitz. She is also survived by her husband Ernest Laduke, Sr. and the family they shared includes: Katherine and Robert Goodman, Rita and James Manzer, Ernest Jr. and Jessica Laduke, Kevin Fessette and Charlotte Laduke, also tons of nieces and nephews and trillions of friends. Sleep in paradise my beautiful mother. The funeral service will be Tuesday 4:00 pm at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A calling hour will be Tuesday 4:30 to 5:30 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
