Please share a memory of Stavroula to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our beloved Stavroula "Lulu" Avramidis (née Liberis), devoted grandmother, mother, wife, sister, and friend, ascended into heaven peacefully on April 2, 2022. K. Stavroula's huge smile made our hearts sing! Her face lit up when she thought about her precious grandchildren! She was so proud of them and adored them all! We were very blessed and oh so incredibly happy to have her here with us. She made the most scrumptious karidopita! K. Stavroula held on to her faith until her final breath. She always said we can face anything; The Lord will help us. Ola kala. She blessed each of her 5 children and their families every time they entered the room and every time they left the home. Prosehe. Born in Vranas, Greece, in March of 1937, Mrs. Stavroula immigrated to the United States in 1969 to provide what were ultimately opportunities beyond imagination for her family. She and her husband, Vasilios "Bill" Avramidis, served as pillars of the Schenectady community owning and operating several restaurants, most notably the Village Diner in Latham. Through good times and not so good times, Mom's boundless love and support held the family together. She was an amazing, kind, gentle soul who is deeply missed. Mrs. Stavroula was an adored matriarch who showed immeasurable strength raising her five children; dearest Polixeni "Paula", predeceased in 2021 (Harinder), Eugenia "Jennie" (Dimitrios), Aspassia "Soula" (Ioannis), George (Eleni), and Nektarios "Abe" (Nikolitsa). She was the cherished grandmother to 11 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and aunt to many nieces, nephews, and loved ones. Stavroula lived a dynamic, full life and will be dearly missed for her gracious and compassionate heart. To honor Stavroula's life and legacy, a viewing will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 107 Clinton Street in Schenectady, on Wednesday, April 6, at 10 a.m. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. As a woman of great faith, donations to St. George Greek Orthodox Church are welcome in lieu of flowers.
