Lawrence (Larry)Hubert Jr.,75, passed away on Friday May 13, 2022 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born on March 25, 1947 in Albany, New York to the late Lawrence Sr. and Marion Hubert. Larry was the oldest of 6 children and the only male sibling. Larry was predeceased by his two younger sisters Patricia and Barbara. Immediately after graduating from Mohonasen High School, Larry enlisted in the United States Army and served two terms. Larry's second term was served in Thailand. Larry was employed by New York State Department of Education for 31 years. Larry enjoyed the great outdoors, especially camping in the Adirondacks. Larry also enjoyed gardening and traveling with his wife Mary while retired from the state. Larry and Mary were recently able to enjoy a vacation in Florida. Larry also enjoyed spending time and serving his Christ Church family. Larry was ordained and served as a Deacon at Christ Church. Larry enjoyed ministering to the congregation as well as partaking in Sunday services. Larry was instrumental in starting and ministering to the people of Schenectady through his prayer table. Larry also helped start the churches bookstore. Larry is survived by his loving wife Mary and her children Shaun (Emily)Quell and Jennifer Quell. He is also survived by his 3 sons Thomas (Phil) Hubert of Rochester, Timothy (Vicki) Hubert of Niskayuna and Steven Hubert of Schenectady. Larry was predeceased by his son James Hubert. Larry is also survived by his stepchildren Maggie, Eric, John and their families. Larry is survived by his grandchildren Katelynn, Jacklynn, Ashely, Amber and Autumn as well as several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Larry is survived by his 3 younger sisters Carol (Don) Trotter of Texas, Marion (Dave) Sullivan of Rotterdam and Annette (Marc) Hathaway of Rotterdam. Calling hours will be at Christ Church, 970 State Street Schenectady, NY from 10 to 11 am on Thursday May, 19, 2022. A requiem mass will immediately follow. Interment will be at the Esperance Cemetery at a later date. For those who are unable to attend to the service and would like to view it, Christ Church will be live streaming the services via their facebook page. Mary and the family would like to thank the amazing Doctors and Nurses at the Albany Medical Center ICU for the outstanding care they provided Larry while he was there.
