Donald David Faboskay passed away in his home on June 14, 2011, after a long illness. He was 77. Born on February 19, 1934 in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of the late Martin and Anna (Kanizek) Faboskay, and brother of the late Martin, Bob, Herbie and Elanor (Faboskay) Blesser. A graduate of Draper High School, he served his country and was honorably discharged as a veteran of the U.S. Army in 1956. Moving to NYC in the late 1950s, Don was employed in the accounting department of St. John's University and the Long Island Railroad. Returning to Schenectady in the early 1960s, he developed a passion for antiques and became a successful dealer until his retirement to Hollywood, FL, in 1989. Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, James and Sophie Faboskay; his sister, Dorothy Fabosky, all of Rotterdam, NY; lifelong friends and companions, Paul Neubauer, Scotia, NY, Hans-Robert Riedel, Cohoes, NY, and Mark Layton, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be Wednesday 11 a.m. at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A calling hour will precede the service onWednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park.
