Obituary of Joyce Blau

Rotterdam- Joyce Blau, 93, passed away Thursday November 3, 2022. Joyce was born in Schenectady, NY the daughter of the late Mary and Frank Carr and was a lifelong area resident. She worked at General Electric as an Executive Secretary for 39 years, retiring in 1989. Joyce loved to gather with friends at lunch or parties. She was an avid golfer and life-time member of the Ballston Spa Country Club. After picking up golf in her twenties she played faithfully until her late 80's. She is survived by her husband of more than 61 years, Douglas Blau, their daughter Patty (Skip) Renaud, grandsons Joe (Joanne) Renaud and Ron (Kimberly) Renaud and 5 great-grandchildren. Joyce was predeceased by 3 brothers, two sisters and her Aunt Margaret Callahan. All are welcome to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am Monday November 21, 2022 at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2777 Albany St. in Schenectady and to attend Interment ceremonies at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. There are no calling hours prior to mass. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation to a charity of your choosing can be made in Joyce's name. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Erie Crossing at the Glendale home for their loving care of Joyce.
