With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of the beautiful life of Bruce Sharron, 91 on February 5, 2023.
He was born in Tupper Lake, NY on April 5, 1931 to J. Fred and Adele Sharron.
Bruce was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary, and cherished daughter Patricia Henaghan.
Bruce is survived by his much loved family, including his children Daniel (Holly) Sharron, Linda Stark, and son-in-law, Michael Henaghan. He's also survived by his loving grandchildren Marissa (William) O'Connor, Daniel Henaghan, Leah (Ian) Thompson, Rachel (Chris) Bates, Austin Sharron, Lisa, Amanda Rae, Matthew Stark, Rikki Leigh (Lindsey) Stark and great-grandchildren, Delaney and Everly O'Connor, Adeline Stark, Jaemin and Ezra Thompson, Ethan Bates and Leona Stark. He is also survived by his brother Gary Sharron and cousin Gail Bolduc and several nieces and nephews.
Bruce attended Mont Pleasant High School and upon graduation served in the U.S Marine Corps, during the Korean War. He then worked for New York Telephone Co. until he retired in 1989. Bruce loved spending his days making memories with his beloved wife, Mary, while enjoying their Florida winter home, and Sacandaga Lake (the camp) until Mary passed. Bruce also loved golfing, playing softball and bowling in his younger days. He was a man with a compassionate nature who always kept his sense of humor. Bruce walked around "the park" daily and always had a positive outlook. He will be missed dearly by all who were fortunate enough to have had him in their lives.
The family would like to recognize Lynne Motel, Bruce's compassionate caretaker, who along with Bruce's children, helped care for him so that he could remain happily in his home.
We'd also like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at Hospice for their kindness and the exceptional care they provided in Bruce's final days .
If you would like to make a donation in Bruce's name please consider the National Association of the Blind, 301 Washington Avenue, Albany NY 12206, or The Community Hospice Foundation, 310 South Manning Boulevard, Albany NY 12208.
A celebration of Bruce's life will be planned at a future date.
