Obituary of Alexander Ferrucci SR

Alexander J. Ferrucci passed away at Ellis Hospital on Saturday, October 2, 2010, after a long illness, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Schenectady on March 19, 1953 to Stephen P. Ferrucci and Catherine (Marotta) Ferrucci, who predeceased him. He was a 1971 graduate of Linton High School. He worked at General Electric, many wood working shops, Pacific Industries. He was also a co-owner/operator of the Old School Cafe and then the Brown Bag in Schenectady. He most recently worked at the Pleasant Valley Elementary School, which he really enjoyed. He moved his family to Galway in 1980, where he became active in the Cub Scouts and the Galway baseball and softball leagues. He coached for many years and he was an official in the organization. He had many interests and passions including motorcycles, camping, woodworking and most of all, his family gatherings. He was a fan of the Buffalo Bills and his NASCAR driver was Bobby LaBonte. His daytime feline friends, Fenway and Kiki, will miss their special treats. Alex is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 39 great years, Carol (Cramer) Ferrucci and his sons, Stephen (Errin) Ferrucci, Alexander Jr. (Jennifer) Ferrucci; daughters, Cynthia (Gary) Francis and Lisa (Warren) Meisner. He was the proud Poppa to Zachary, Joshua, Austin, Wil, Ethan, Noah, Haley, Talor and Ayden. He also leaves behind his two sisters, Rita (David) Delorenzo and Theresa Kraham; mother-in-law, Virginia Cramer; sisters-in-law, Joan (John) Hewitt, Patricia Cahill, Sue Searle, and brothers-in-law, Steve and Tom Cramer and the late Robert Cramer; and nephew, Micah Cramer and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends, including his biker brothers in Leather Wings. Funeral service Sunday evening at 7 o'clock. Calling hours will preceed the service Sunday evening 5 to 7. Interment will be private. We would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and techs who provided comfort, support and care over the years. In particular, we thank Dr. Gary Kronick, Dr. Michael Marmulstein, Dr. Paige Salenger, Dr. Thomas Schumacker and Dr. Brian McDonald, for their compassion and guidance. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the National Kidney Foundation or consider signing up to be an organ donor.
