Obituary of Debra Finelli

Keene, NH.- Debra S. Finelli, 59, passed away January 8, 2012. Born on February 7, 1952, in Keen, NH, to Mary E. (Payeski) and Frank T. Salonen. She graduated Thayer High School, Class of 1970, in Wincester, NH. She earned her bachelor of science in education from University of New Hampshire at Keene, NH, Class of 1975; Juris Doctor from Albany Law School of Union University in Albany, NY, Class of 1993. She was assistant attorney general for New York State Department of Law, Civil Recoveries Bureau, from 1998 to present. She was also associate attorney for the Law Office of Louis J. Pierro/MacKrell, Rowlands, Premo & Pierro, LLP, from 1993 to 1997. Debra was an expert in elder law and lectured, presented and co-authored articles. She was a member of the New York State Bar Association, former co-chair Elder Law/Estates administration Committee, Schenectady County chapter. Debra is survived by her daughter, Mary (Libby) Pagliaccio-Nichols; and son-in-law, Eric Nichols of Corning, NY. Debra's surviving siblings are Sandra Howard and her husband, Jeffrey of Hinsdale, NH, Su-Ann Joslyn and her husband, Jerri of Surry, NH, and Gregory Salonen and his wife, Diana of Wincester, NH. She was predeceased by a brother, Frank Salonen, in 1978. Visiting hours will be held at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan Street in Schenectady, NY, on Saturday, January 14, from 2 to 5 p.m.
