Arlene Daley, 92, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023 at her home surrounded by loving family.


Arlene was born in Schenectady the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Nesbit Dasher and lived in the area most of her life. She married Francis Daley in September of 1952 and together they had 5 children. As a young mom, Arlene stayed home to raise the kids and was known as the neighborhood seamstress. After the kids grew up Arlene went to work at General Electric as a secretary, where she worked for many years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, an avid reader who loved her daily crossword puzzles and jumble and had a great sense of humor. Arlene loved to travel with her sister and together they visited many far away and exotic places. Her husband, Francis predeceased her in 1998.


Arlene is survived by her children: Brian (Ann) Daley, Kevin (Suzanne) Daley, Colleen (Dennis) McMahon, Sean (Victoria) Daley and Dennis (Tammy) Daley, grand children: Meghan (Noel) Rivera, Carolyn (Andrew) Wells, Erin (Rob) and Ryan (Katie) Daley, Sean and Michael (Katelyn) McMahon, Conor (Kristin) and Eamon (Bailey) Daley, great-grand children: Lorenzo Rivera, Ethan and Ella Fisher, Landon Daley, Layla Daley and two on the way.


Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Arlene's name to Community Hospice, 445 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205.
