Obituary of Mary E. Keenan

Schenectady - Mary E. Keenan, 83, died Sunday May 21, 2023 at the Ellis Residential and Rehabilitation Center. Mary was born in Connemara, Ireland the daughter of Thomas and Barbara Coyne. Mary moved to Schenectady when she was 17. She had worked at several jobs throughout the years and retired from Hallmark Nursing Home. Mary was a longtime communicant of St. Luke's Church. She was very active with the Schenectady Ancient Order of the Hibernians. Mary will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and family celebrations. She was predeceased by her husband Donald Keenan. Mary was the mother of 4 children; Jackie (Andy) Sharp and Brenda (Peter) Adams and predeceased by her two sons, Kevin and Brian Keenan. She is survived by a sister Annie Maitino and brother Michael Coyne and was predeceased by 4 brothers and two sisters. Mary has 3 grandchildren: Kelly Sharp, Greg (Jessa) Sharp and Corey (fiancé Becky) Sharp and 1 great-granddaughter Amelia Sharp. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services Friday 8:30 am from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady then to St. Luke's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 am. Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.
