Obituary of Louis Fiore

Louis C. Fiore SchenectadyLouis C. Fiore, 84, died peacefully on January 30th, 2012 at Ellis Residential & Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. Louis was born on April 24, 1927 in New York City to parents, Julia and Patrick Fiore, and a brother, Victor. After high school, Louis served in the Navy during WWII on the USS LEYTE CV-32. After an honorable discharge he relocated to Long Island where he met Doris, his late wife of 45 years. Finally settling in upstate New York, Louis supported a family of six while continuously educating himself throughout his lifetime and mastered several trades as an architect, plumber, carpenter and electrician. He retired from Schenectady County in 1994 after working as the buildings and grounds supervisor at SCCC for several years. He is survived by his five children, 13 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. Louis was of the Lutheran Faith. There will be a memorial service for friends and family held at Zion Lutheran Church, on Nott Terrace in Schenectady on Thursday at 1 p.m., Rev. Shawn Dugan officiating. A private burial immediately following will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Veteran's Cemetery in Saratoga. The family of Louis would like to personally thank Gail Moore and several staff members at the Ellis Nursing and Rehab Center for the love and care shown to Louis over the last few years and for their support shown to his family during his illness.
