George Lilkendey Obituary

George M. Lilkendey, 55, died at his home in Niskayuna, NY on June 6, 2023.

George was born in Queens, NY, the son of Patricia and George Lilkendey, the first of five siblings. He was kindhearted and found joy in connecting with and helping others. George served in the Navy, he had a strong work ethic, and for the last decade, he has provided compassionate care in health delivery services for homebound patients. His impact was significant, and he will be deeply missed.

George was a reserved man with a beautiful smile and a laugh that could lift your spirits. He was passionate about martial arts and cars and a connoisseur of cuisines and music. Growing up, George was a talented trumpet player and took an interest in the radio industry. He spent his early career as a DJ, voiceover artist, and announcer. George's unique way with words and phrases was one of the many things that endeared him to his family.

In addition to his parents, George is survived by his son Noah Lilkendey, brother Marty Lilkendey, and sisters Anne Marie, Patricia, and Julia Lilkendey. He also leaves behind his beloved nephews Felix Day and Elijah Lilkendey, as well as his nieces Zoë Bertram and Carter Lilkendey, uncle James Lilkendey, and aunts Toni Lilkendey, Fran Lilkendey, and Georgiana Carney—who cherished him as her godchild. He is preceded in death by uncles Andrew Carney and Thomas Lilkendey; and grandparents Martin and Margaret Lilkendey and Andrew and Julia Carney.

George will be laid to rest in a private ceremony. There will be no local services. For those who wish to honor George's memory, a donation to Easterseals Academy located at 350 Braden Avenue in Sarasota, FL would be a meaningful gesture.
