Zephyrhills Fl - Joan M. Simonds passed away February 5th, 2023. She was born September 24, 1935 to John and Julia VonStetina. Joan worked for NYS Tax and Finance for 20 years, retiring as head stenographer for the commissioner of Tax and Finance.

She married her 1st husband, Francis P. Moonan in 1956, who subsequently pre-deceased her in 1976, of a heart attack. Joan married her second husband, Donald Simonds in 1992, who pre-deceased her of colon cancer in 2008. She and Don commuted between Lake Desolation and Zephyrhills FL, until Don's death, then she stayed in Zephyrhills .

Joan is pre-deceased by a son John Moonan.

She is survived by 5 sons; Lawrence Moonan of Scotia, Michael Moonan (Patricia) of Baily CO, Francis Moonan (Wumi) of Spring Hill, FL, Timothy Moonan of Rochester NYand William Moonan (Maribel) of Latham NY; 2 grandsons, Kevin (son of Francis & Wumi) and Lucas (son of William & Maribel); also her sister, Delores Kelly.

Visitation for Joan will be held Wednesday Eve, June 21, from 4-7 at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady.

Graveside Service, Thursday 11am, at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.
