Obituary of Lisa T. Bartlett

SCHENECTADY - Lisa T. Bartlett, 65, of Selden Street, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Lisa was born on February 22, 1958 to the late Eugene and Betty (Mercier) Tillema. She grew up in Colonie and was a graduate of Colonie High School and Mildred Elley Business School. She began a career with New York State shortly thereafter, where she worked for the Department of State for 40 years before retiring. Lisa took immense pride in her work and the friends she made there along the way. Lisa enjoyed extended camping trips to her favorite place, Moffitt Beach, every summer as well as vacations to Cape May, NJ; Maine; and Lake George. She enjoyed playing various word games, especially those she could play with friends online. Above all, she relished her role as “Nana” to her grandson Colby, whom she adored. Lisa was known for her eagle eye, steel trap memory, and generosity. She could point out an imperfection from a mile away, remembered all the important dates and details, and always made it a point to send everyone cards. Her loss leaves an immense hole in her family; all those who knew her will miss her tremendously. Lisa was predeceased by her brother Gary Tillema and several dear friends. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Michael Bartlett; her daughter Laura (Kevin) Bender; grandson Colby Bender, and sister Deborah Tillema. Also surviving are an aunt, several cousins, in-laws, and nieces and nephews. A service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours Wednesday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Troy-Schenectady Road, Niskayuna. Contributions in memory of Lisa may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
