Obituary of Grace Fischer

Grace P. Fischer, 91, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012. Grace was born in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Joseph and Julianna (Lukasziewicz) Accurso and was a lifelong area resident. As a young woman she worked for General Electric Company from 1941 to 1950. She volunteered with the Red Cross as a Nurse's Aide in 1945 and had been a communicant of St. Madeleine-Sophie and more recently, St. John The Evangelist. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Fischer, who passed away in 1995. She is survived by her four children, Susan Fischer of Los Angeles, CA, Brian (Susan) Fischer of San Francisco, CA, Kathryn (Curtis) Crofts of Seattle, WA and Patricia Caporta of Delmar, NY; five grandchildren, Whitney Fischer, Kevin and Grace Crofts, Katie and Julianna Caporta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 11 a.m. at St. John The Evangelist Church, 812 Union St., Schenectady. Calling hours will precede the Mass from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Daly Funeral Home 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
