George David Kirker, Sr., 65, passed away on September 16th, 2023 at Ellis Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Schenectady, NY on July 8th, 1958, to Ella Mae Borogen.

He graduated from Linton High School in 1975 and worked for Schenectady County for 41 years, including Glendale Nursing Home for 28 years. He was dedicated to his work and committed countless hours to the county. He had a passion for working all county events and was recently honored with a county event stage named after him, "The George Kirker Stage." He was the recipient of many awards including being named a Schenectady Hometown Hero as well as being the first recipient of a county employee recognition award. He had a passion for classic vehicles, was the best handyman and was always helping anyone who needed him. But, George always put spending time with his family first. He was cherished by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

George is survived by his wife of 33 years, Denise; children, George Kirker, Jr., (Samantha), Scott Kirker (Kimberly), Stephen Kirker (Nicole), Carla Saglimbeni and grandchildren, Alex, Rian, Arianna, Angelo, Brendan, and Cloie. He is also survived by his siblings, Sue Lucas (John), Richard Kirker (Brenda), Mina Aini, Alyce Dariano (Jerry) and Mary Marr (Jim Fitzgerald); as well as many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his mother, Ella Mae Borogen, brother, Larry Kirker, mother-in-law, Fern Capone and brother-in-law, John Aini.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 21st, 1:00 p.m. at Daly Funeral Home. Visitation will precede the service on Thursday, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment, St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.
