Rotterdam - Norma Flicker, 83, of Kingsway Arms Nursing Center formerly of Floral Ave. died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the nursing home. Norma was born and educated in Schenectady, she was the daughter of Louis and Mary DeNovio DeSalvatore. She had worked at the General Electric Co. as a secretary and retired after 44 years of service. She had been a past president of the GE Women's Club and loved to travel the world over with her friends. Norma had been a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. She will always be remembered as a loving sister and aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her brother, Armand (Florence) DeSalvatore of Lady Lake, FL; and nieces and nephews, Linda DeCarlo, Lewis (Cindy) DeSalvatore and David (Kristen) DeSalvatore; and great-nieces and nephews. Norma was predeceased by her brother, John DeSalvatore; her niece, Karen DeSalvatore; and her former spouse, Ronald Flicker. Funeral service, Monday morning, May 14, 11 a.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 11:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be held Monday morning, 9:30 to 11 at the funeral home. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Schenectady. Norma's family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff of Kingsway Arms Nursing Center for their compassionate care during Norma's stay the last six years
