Obituary of Patrick Harris

Brooklyn NY- Patrick Henry Harris better known as “Henry” has passed away on the 2nd of February 2024. He was born on March 17th, 1957 a well known holiday St.Patricks day hence his name being Patrick. He was born in the east NY area of Brooklyn NY to the late Emma Jean Handy-Harris and John Oliver Harris. He was a dedicated father to his only child Saviina Q. Harris and devoted grandfather to his three grand-daughters (Zuri, Nyla and Jazlyn). Patrick was a loving and caring brother to his surviving siblings Bernard “Bobby” Harris, Sylvia Turnage, Maseera Harris, Dinah Harris, Sharon Harris, Doreen Harris and baby sister Sophia E Harris. He also has a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom he was very attentive to who will miss him immensely. Patrick attended the following schools at P.S. 214, I.S. 218 and would later go to Franklin K.Lane for high school. He found employment as a cook working for the city of New York Board of Education. In addition he had a lengthy career in the construction field. He was truly a jack of all trades specializing in carpentry, sheet rocking and plumbing. Patrick would eventually relocate to Schenectady N.Y. and continue utilizing his skills by doing numerous jobs for a variety of customers. He often extended his services to family. He was always willing to offer himself to anyone who needed his assistance especially his loved ones. He was a wonderful, caring man- he strived to be a people pleaser. Everyone who knew him simply loved him and enjoyed his big personality. He was humble, optimistic and overall laid-back with a radiant smile and a forever sense of humor. He will forever be in our hearts and truly missed. Our family will never be the same without Patrick. I know that we will find comfort in each other and we will get through this together. We are all holding him close in our thoughts with memories but more importantly knowing he is with the Lord so we have a sense of ease. A celebration of life will be held Friday February 16, 2pm at the Daly Funeral Home 242 Mcclellan St. Visitation will precede the service from 1-2
