Louis P. Fraterrigo, 97, of Ableman Avenue, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2010, at The Inn at St. Peter's. Louis was born on March 22, 1913, in Batavia, NY, to the late Philip and Loretta Tripi Fraterrigo. For 30 years he was employed by General Motors in Buffalo, until his retirement in 1973. Louis was a member of the Canisius Alumni Sodality for over 40 years, a communicant of Christ the King Church, and a former communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church in Buffalo, where he was a longtime eucharistic minister. His wife, Rita Richmeyer, whom he married April 12, 1939, predeceased him on April 23, 2005, shortly following their 66th wedding anniversary. Survivors include his children, Dr. Philip Fraterrigo and his wife, Barbara of Guilderland, and Catherine Szell of Ohio; grandchildren, Dr. Philip A. Fraterrigo, Michael Fraterrigo, David Fraterrigo, Dr. Lynn Fraterrigo-Boler, Dr. Kerri-Ann Fraterrigo, Christopher Szell, Kevin Szell, and Lynette Szell Toler; and 13 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Daly Funeral Home, Monday, July 5, from 3 to 7 p.m. The parish family of Christ the King Church will gather at the funeral home at 5:30 p.m. on Monday for a service of prayer and remembrance. All are welcome. Funeral service will be held Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. from the Daly Funeral Home, then to Christ the King Church, 20 Sumpter Ave., Westmere, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made in Louis' name to Schenectady County Right to Life Committee, Inc., P.O. Box 9231, Schenectady, NY 12309-0231, or to St. Margaret's Center, 27 Hackett Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
