Corey B. Gold Obituary

Corey B. Gold died on April 16, 2024. Corey was born on August 6, 1943 in Newark, NJ, to the late Sanford and Valeda Gold, and grew up in Schenectady and Niskayuna. He attended Linton High School. His love of cars led to him being an auto mechanic for several years. He then went to work making boat covers and related before starting his career in the glass business. After working as a glazier for other companies, he founded and operated Niskayuna Glass in Schenectady until he retired. He had been very active in the Niskayuna Elks and had been a member of NYTB for several years. He was an avid gardener and maintained a meticulous yard. He loved dogs. He raised Pomeranians, had Afghan Hounds, and took his late, beloved Yorkie, Annabelle, almost everywhere with him. He was very social and loved to be out with friends. He and Alma traveled for many years.


He was predeceased by his son, Brian A. Gold, his sister Roberta Gold Goodman, nephews Gregg Caringi and Dan Goodman, and his partner of 24 years, Alma Killeen. He is survived by his sisters Adele Weller of Burnt Hills and Leslie Gold of Niskayuna, honorary brother Vladimir Ponomarenko of Niskayuna, daughters Donna Marie Piantanida and Debra Piantanida, honorary daughter Kathleen Killeen, nephew Jeff Caringi, nieces Carla Russo and Sherri Russo, their families, and many good friends.


Visitation will be held from 11 to noon on April 22, 2024 at Daly Funeral Home followed by a memorial service.
