Denise Falvo Obituary

Glenville - Denise L. Falvo, 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2024, after a heroic battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 1, 1951, in Schenectady, New York, to the late Dominic A. Parisi and Alberta B. Santelli.

Denise lived a full and vibrant life. She graduated from Linton High School (Class of '69) and attended Cazenovia College and SUNY Brockport graduating with a B.A. in Social Work (Class of '73). Upon graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Nick Falvo, on August 9, 1975. They enjoyed a wonderful 49 years together.

Denise cherished her childhood summers spent sailing on Galway Lake with her cousins. As her own children grew, she created lasting memories by hosting family and friends at Sacandaga Lake every summer.

Denise was a loving presence in the lives of her family and friends, known for her kind heart and willingness to help others. As a devoted wife, mother, and cherished "Mimi" to her grandchildren, she brought joy to those around her with her warm personality and infectious smile. Denise had a natural talent for organizing reunions and family gatherings, always finding reasons to celebrate life's moments together. When she wasn't enjoying time with her grandchildren, she loved immersing herself in autobiographies and tackling crossword puzzles.

Denise was a woman of many talents and dedicated her life to various roles throughout her career. She began working as a Social Worker for Samaritan Shelters. Later, she joined her father's business as a travel agent at Heck's Travel Bureau, where she developed a passion for helping others explore the world. She then served as president of Women in Travel, advocating for women's roles in the travel industry. Denise also worked as an administrative assistant at Glen Sanders Mansion and played a pivotal role in helping Mazzone Hospitality open Aperitivo Bistro.

The majority of her professional life was spent as the office manager at the family business, Schenectady Auto Service, working side by side with her husband, Nick. Her organizational skills and dedication were instrumental in the success of the business.

Denise is survived by her husband, Nick Falvo, her son Nicholas Falvo and his wife Francesca, her daughter Natalie Caruso and her husband Anthony. She is also survived by her brother David (Kate) Parisi, Donna (Richard) Etkin, her in-laws, Jacky (Stan) Norman, Janice (John) Abbale, Jack (Kate) Falvo, John (Julia) Falvo, Jean (Patrick) Neville. Denise will forever be remembered by her greatest joys, her grandchildren, Gianna, Nicholas, Luciano, and Antonio, plus many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Denise was predeceased by her parents, Dominic and Alberta Parisi, her mother-in-law and father-in-law Jack and Dorothy Falvo, and her nephew Jack Falvo III.

The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the caregivers at Hospice for their unwavering support and care.
