Dolores E. Frumkin (85), a resident of Schenectady for over 55 years, died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at WakeMed Cary Hospital, Cary, NC. Dolores resided with her loving daughter, Maxine Frumkin in Cary for the past year. Born in Albany, the daughter of Edward J. Sr. and Frances Haley, Dolores grew up Rensselaer. Dolores is survived by brothers, Edward J. Haley Jr. and David W. Haley and sister Catherine Bombard as well as three children; Maxine Frumkin of Cary, NC, Kim Frumkin of Houston, TX and Daniel Frumkin of Great Falls, VA. Dolores was an adoring grandmother to Skyler W. Varnadore (23) daughter to Kim, and to Jacob (9) and Lauren (7), the children of Dan and Lynne Frumkin. Dolores moved from Rensselaer to live in Schenectady, working for many years at General Electric. In Schenectady she wed Jacob Frumkin, MD. Dolores loved to cook, to bake and she loved to entertain. She was well known for her fast wit, kindness, generosity. Dolores maintained a high energy level throughout her life creating strong bonds and friendships lasting decades. Her many friends will remember Dolores for her beautiful sense of humor, her loving support and her unstoppable personality. Dolores was predeceased by her sisters Barbara McDemott and Joan Reisenger and her brothers, Robert D. Haley and Daniel Haley. The family would like to thank the staff at WakeMed Cary Hospital for their thoughtful care and the comfort provided to Dolores in her final weeks. Funeral Service 11 am Thursday May 14 from the Daly Funeral Home 242 McClellan Street. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment private at the Temple Gates of Heaven Cemetery. It was Dolores' desire that those who attend wear or to be adorned in something gold in celebration of Dolores' wonderful life. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Dolores' name to honor her love for children and animals to either the Make-a-Wish Foundation, One Mustang Drive, Cohoes, NY 12047 (via the web at www.wish.org), or to the Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204 (via the web at www.mohawkhumane.org.
