Schenectady - Sherry Tomassi, 68, entered into Heaven and was reunited with her parents and Big Bro, on Thursday, January 2, 2025, with her family beside her.

Sherry was the daughter of the late Frank Jr. and Lillian Tomassi and was also predeceased by her Big Brother and protector Charles "Butch" Tomassi. Born in Schenectady, she was a Mont Pleasant graduate and lifelong Schenectadian. Sherry worked for 25 years for Hallmark Nursing Home; there she made lasting connections and was known for arriving before her bosses, a strong work ethic and hilarious stories.

Sherry was a lover of animals, Johny Depp, puzzle books, watching the Young and the Restless, General Hospital and various game shows. Her most favorite past time was either shopping on QVC or getting on the Star Bus with Claudia venturing from one store to another.

Sherry is survived by and will be missed by her two fur kitties Teddy and Ty, aunts, uncles, cousins, godson and will be most especially missed by her sister like, best friend, cousin and caretaker Claudia Calkins.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, 1:00 pm at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours will precede the service from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schenectady.
