Obituary of Joyce Gatto

Schenectady - Joyce R. Gatto, 70, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Ellis Hospital. Joyce was born in Schenectady the daughter of the late Dominick and Rose Lombardi and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Mont Pleasant High School then worked as a secretary with the New York State Troopers and then a seamstress with the Carl Co. She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years Pasquale Gatto; loving children, Judi Gatto and Matthew (Pamela) Gatto, brother Vincent Lombardi; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, 10:15 a.m. from Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, then to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 1260 Pleasant St., Schenectady, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Calling hours will be Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mastroianni, his wife Susan and the staff of Ellis Hospital for all of their wonderful care.
