John D. Gaudio, 88, of Daniels Avenue, died Monday, October 24, 2011, suddenly at Ellis Hospital. John was born in Amsterdam, July 7, 1923 the son of Dominick and Anna (Baiuso) Gaudio. John served in the U.S. Army as a medic in WWII, Battalion B, 104th Infantry, serving in France, Germany, Denmark and Holland. He was a Leader in the Glass Shop at G.E. Research and Development Center, retiring in 1993, after 50 years service. He was a member of Union Local 301 and VFW Post 357. He was predeceased by his sisters, Viola Ferrante and Catherine D'Ambrosio. John is survived by his sister, Helen Giannetti of Glenville; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services Thursday, October 27, 10:30 a.m. from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, and 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Thursday morning, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St.Cyril and Method Cemetery, Rotterdam. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant Ave., Schenectady, NY 12303.
