Obituary of Lila Gochenaur

Schenectady - Lila M. Gochenaur, 80, passed away at the Kingsway Arms Nursing Home after a long and courageous struggle with illness. Lila, who was predeceased by her husband of many years, John Gochenaur, was the co-owner and operator of St. Clare Pharmacy in Schenectady. Born in Yonkers, NY, Lila was the only child of Victor and Maude Pompilio. As a child and young adult, Lila injoyed owning and riding horses, claiming many winning ribbons. Lila was a graduate of the Albany College of Pharmacy, earning her degree as a Registered Pharmacist. She was the mother of four children, Paul Gochenaur, Kathleen Leach, John Gochenaur and Eileen Gochenaur, as well as the loving grandmother of Rob, Jennifer, Michelle and John. For many years she was an active member of the Soroptomists, a ladies business and service organization. Calling hours for friends and family will be at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, with Services at Daly's on Monday at 10:00 AM, followed by a private burial.
