Henry Hall posted a condolence

Although it has been 40 years since I've seen Aunt Marie, I was very sorry to hear that she had passed away. My mom was Uncle Hank's youngest sister, Patricia, and I was actually named after Uncle Hank. We moved to California when I was young but we visited the East every other summer up until about 1970, when college, jobs and other things interfered. I remember hanging out at "Henry's" when we were in Schenectady (my dad's parents lived there as well) and fondly remember both Uncle Hank and Aunt Marie. My wife, Debbie, commented that Aunt Marie had eclectic interests: animals, bridge, community service and horse racing. I told her that that was EXACTLY how I remembered her. She was very interesting and very very nice.

Because I hadn't heard from Aunt Marie in some time after sending greeting notes, birthday card and Christmas letter, I was suspicious so I Googled Aunt Marie's name and, of course, found the sad news. I am Margaret and Rodger Beattie's daughter. My mother was Uncle Hank's sister. We lived in Watertown, New York and I have been living in Staten Island since my marriage in 1985. Aunt Marie and Uncle Hank provide beautiful memories for my brother, Bruce, and me. We loved them both dearly. They were a big part of our growing up years. We send our sympathies to all others who knew and loved Aunt Marie. My address is 240 Guyon Avenue, Staten Island, New York 10306. One of my fondest memories of Aunt Marie is our shopping trips to Barney's years and years ago. I always laughed at how disorganized she kept her money in her purse..just a wad of bills. I loved her dearly; I wish we could go back and repeat the last 50 years or so! Evelyn (Evie) Beattie Kormanik
