Lois K. Hartje, 86, passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Lois was born June 14, 1925 to Emerson and Mary Larrabee of Scotia, NY, and graduated from Scotia High School. She married William Hartje on June 26, 1943. They moved to Sacandaga, where they spent many years boating. Lois resided there until six years ago. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, William; her brothers, Raymond and Leland Larrabee; sisters, Althea and Virginia; and son, William H. Hartje, Jr. Lois is survived by her daughters, Linda (John) Czub of Charlton, and Nancy Keyser Schenectady; daughter-in-law, Lynn Hartje of Pattersonville; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Ed Milas of Illinois; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Gail, Joann and Community Hospice of Saratoga for the wonderful care of Lois. The funeral service will be Saturday 11 a.m. at Daly Funeral Home 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A calling hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 176 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
