Schenectady - Jean Cameron Haven died peacefully on January 18, 2013 at Kingsway Community in Schenectady. Born on July 31, 1925 she was the daughter of the late John and Jean Cameron of Rotterdam. Affectionately called Jeanie Beanie by her five children in their younger years, they summered together in Pilot Knob, Lake George, NY at their beloved camp built by their father, Edward S. Haven. Jean was an artist, gardener and set designer for Children's Theater and the Lake George Opera Company. She traveled to Toronto, Montreal and Scotland and had previously lived in Albuquerque, NM, Miami, FL and Bloomfield Hills, MI. Jean was employed by General Electric for many years. Jean will be deeply missed and is survived by her children, Melissa Jean Dailey, Carolyn Sue Smith, Jonathan Ward Haven, Allison Lynn Shea and Todd Cameron Haven, their spouses; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Thanks are extended to the staff at Kingsway Community for their kindness and sensitivity. A graveside service will be held privately at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Northeastern NY Chapter, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205.
