Jean Hay Obituary
Jean Hay, 90, formerly of Eastern Parkway, died Friday, at The Avenue nursing home after a long illness. Born in Dunkirk, NY, Jean was a lifelong area resident. She graduated Ellis Hospital School of Nursing in 1940, working at Ellis as an obstetrics nurse, Sunnyview and several doctors' offices during her career. Upon retiring she was a volunteer at Sunnyview. Jean was an avid golfer having two documented holes-in-one. Wife of the late Donald C. Hay, who passed away 2005. Survivors include a son, Terry Hay of Hyde Park, NY; a daughter, Donna Hart (Jerry) of Niskayuna; four grandchildren, Brian Hart, Karen Boulay (Richard), Steven Hay and Kimberly Smith; three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Jacqueline Boulay and Joseph Smith; several nieces and nephews; and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Ryan. Funeral service, Tuesday evening 7 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. Calling hours will precede the service, Tuesday evening from 5 to 7. Interment will be private. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers of the Avenue Nursing Home for their loving care of Jean. Memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Assoc. or the Avenue Nursing Home.
