Scotia - Blanche M. Audette, 94, of the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center, died at the center on Tuesday, December 25, 2012. Blanche was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Jacob and Helen Geier Bleser, and was a graduate of the Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in Troy. She had worked at Ellis Hospital as a nursing supervisor for 12 years and with GE as an industrial nurse in Syracuse. Her husband's work with GE led her to move many times, living in Johnson City, Utica, and Syracuse in New York State as well as Oklahoma City, and enjoyed retirement in Florida. She had been a member of St. Elizabeth's Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband, Ashley C. Audette, in 2005. Survived by two children, Curtis (Connie) Audette and Dawn (Paul) Borst; four grandchildren, Deborah and Lawrence Borst, and Amelia and Laura Audette; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings, Gail Wells, Catherine Conty and F. Jacob Bleser. Funeral service Saturday morning, 11 a.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church (State and Lafayette St.) where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church Restoration Fund, 225 Lafayette St., Schencetady, NY 12305 or Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center, 297 N. Ballston Ave., Scotia, NY 12302. The family will always be grateful to the staff of Baptist Health for their care and kindness extended to Blanche and family, especially those on H-3.
