William M. Henning, Jr., 75, of Cass Court, passed away Wednesday morning, January 6, 2010, at Ellis Hospital. William was born in South Troy on December 8, 1934, the son of the late William and Anna Henning, Sr. He was a graduate of LaSalle Military Academy, class of 1952. William also attended Siena College. From 1953 to 1957 he faithfully served in the U.S. Navy as a radio operator on the U.S.S. Salem. For 25 years William was employed by The Daily Gazette in Schenectady, where he worked as a printer. He also worked many years as a printer and delivery truck driver for the Albany Times Union. William and his son, William (III), enjoyed a mutual passion for antique cars and often attended car shows. William was the husband of the late Joan J. Cietek Henning, whom he married June 20, 1961. She later died December 10, 2005. Survivors include his son, William M. Henning III of Scotia; and a sister, Mary Louise Lennon and her husband, Bob. Funeral service Monday morning at 9:45 a.m. from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan Street, Schenectady, then to St. Augustine's Church, Lansingburgh, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy. Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
