Macle Mae Holloway passed away on Thursday, September 2, after a three year battle with colon cancer, with her family and caregivers at her side. Macle was born October 10, 1938 in Beaumont, Texas, to the late Ella Mae and Manuel Holloway. While attending Charlton-Pollard High School in Beaumont, she was a key member of championship basketball and track teams. She graduated from Prairie View A&M College with a bachelor's of arts degree. Macle retired from Ensign-Bickford Industries in Simsbury, Connecticut in 2004, and shortly thereafter, relocated to Niskayuna, New York. She is survived by her brothers, Manuel Holloway (Zelema) of Decatur, Illinois, Lionel Holloway of Beaumont, Texas, and Wes Holloway (Mary) of Niskayuna, New York; her aunt, Peggy Moore of Belen, New Mexico, and uncle, Theodore Smith of Madison, Wisconsin. She is also survived by her niece, Pam Reynolds (James), and great-niece Tiffany; her nephew, Wesley "Larry" Holloway, Jr. (Erminia); and great-nieces, Yella, Sophia, and Ava. The family wishes to thank Macle's physicians, Mina Sun, MD, and Thomas Goodman, MD, for their guidance and expertise, as well as Community Hospice and Kings Way Home Care Services for their compassionate and loving care. There will be no local services. Following cremation, Macle's remains will be taken to Beaumont, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308. Arrangements by the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St.
