Obituary of John Iler

John "Jack" Iler, 79, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011, at home surrounded by his family. Jack was born in Troy, NY, proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War with the 2nd Infantry Division and worked for Sears for 37 years, retiring in 1993. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Helene Iler; their children, Debbie Clother, Mark (Leassa) Iler and Scott (Renee) Iler; grandchildren, Tommy, Corey, Ashley, Brandon and Dylan; seven great-grandchildren; one niece, Glenna (James) Martens and his best friend, Bill Pickney. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Mildred White. The funeral service will be Tuesday 11:30 a.m. at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours will precede the service 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308.
