Marie H. Jones, 88, of Sloansville, formerly of Ft. Hunter Rd., died Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at home, peacefully surrounded by her family. Marie was born in Hudson Falls, the daughter of Arthur and Mary Goodness. She moved to Rotterdam as a child, graduating from Draper High School. At one time she worked at the General Electric Co. Marie moved to Sloansville to reside with her daughter, Linda. She was a member of the Sloansville Valley Gospel Fellowship Church, where her son-in-law is the pastor. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, John Paige Jones. He died July 4, 2010. They were neighborhood sweethearts. Marie is survived by two daughters, Susan (Bud) Belcher of Skaneateles and Linda (Brent) Bushen of Sloansville; six grandchildren, Andrea, Melissa, Katelyn, Benjamin, Becky, and BreAnna; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service, Monday, 11 a.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours, Sunday evening, 5 to 7 p.m. and Monday, 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to Catskill Hospice of Schoharie County, 795 E. Main St., Suite 11 Cobleskill, NY 12043.
