Obituary of William Joralemon JR

William R. Joralemon, Jr., 88, of Whitney Dr., died Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at Ellis Hospital after a short illness. Bill was born in Rotterdam, the son of William and Genevieve Ross Joralemon, and was a graduate of Scotia High School. He was a U.S. Army Air Forces World War II veteran, where he served in North Africa and Italy, as an aerial photographer. He was a steamfitter plumber working at General Electric for 46 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the AFL #128, the General Electric Quarter Century Club, American Legion #1092, and a communicant of St. Helen's Church. Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Stell Rogowski Joralemon; seven children, Joyce (Hassan) Dinakar of Meriden, CT, Robert (Rosemary) Joralemon of Niskayuna, Jonathan (Laura) Joralemon of Juneau, AK, Jayne (Rene)Padilla of Sparks, NV, Michael Joralemon of Niskayuna, Julie (Dennis) Newhart of Clifton Park, and Jodie (Michael) McGarry of Ballston Lake; 16 grandchildren, Ravi, Vijay, Sanjiv, David (Jessica), Thomas, William, Brianna, Adam, Ahliyahna, Dennis Jr., Brooke, Nicholas, Lauren, Katherine, Mikayla, and Malachy; and three great-grandchildren, Anthony, Liam and Lillian Rose. Funeral service Saturday morning, 8:15 from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, and 9 a.m. at St. Helen's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Friday evening 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna with military honors.
