Obituary of Janet Kalogridis

Janet M. Kalogridis, 55, of Fox Hollow Rd. died Saturday, August 13, 2011 as a result of a brief illness with colorectal cancer. Janet was born in Yonkers, the daughter of Albert and Joan Dulak. She was a graduate of SUNY Oneonta and earned her master's in social work at SUNY Albany. For several years she was a clinical social worker at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital and Community Hospice of Schenectady. Janet will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, who was very witty and loved to laugh and read. Her favorite time spent was being in the kitchen, where she was an extraordinary baker and cook, creating for family and friends. She was a communicant of St. Helen's Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Michael P. Kalogridis and their cherished daughter, Alayna Kalogridis and many cousins. Janet was predeceased by her brother, Richard Dulak. Funeral service will be held Tuesday morning at 8:15 a.m. from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc. 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 9 a.m. at St. Helen's Church (1801 Union St., Niskayuna) where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Monday afternoon 4 to 8 in the evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308.
