Obituary of Gordon Kenyon

Gordon A. Kenyon NiskayunaGordon A. Kenyon, 92, of Settles Hill Rd., Altamont, formerly of Nott St., Niskayuna, died Monday, April 23, 2012 at the St. Peter's Hospice Inn. Gordon was born in W. Springfield, MA, and was a graduate of Chester High School, Chester, MA. He was a proud U.S. Navy World War II veteran, serving his country in the African, European and Pacific theaters. Gordon moved to Schenectady in 1946 to work in the quality control department of the American Locomotive Company, later owning Family Aquarium and GE Laundereze, for over 30 years, retiring in 1982. He will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and father. His wife, Catherine McGovern Kenyon, died in 2001. They married on November 18, 1944. He is survived by seven children, Gordon Kenyon, Kathleen Towers, Terrance, Maryann, Timothy, Charles and Peter Kenyon; a sister, Dorothy Dyer; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral service Thursday evening, 5 at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, followed by calling hours until 7. Interment at a time later to be announced at the Gerald B.H. Soloman Saratoga National Cemetery
