Obituary of Casimir Krystyniak

Casimir W. Krystyniak, 90, of Howell St., died Thursday, February 2, 2011, at Ellis Hospital, after a short illness. Casimir was born in Schenectady, the son of Ignatius and Mary Krystyniak, and was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. He was a lab technician at the General Electric Research and Development Center, where he was credited with several patents; he retired in 1987. Casimir was a life member of the Watervliet Fish and Game Club, where he was recognized for his marksmanship. He was a very generous and compassionate man and supported several special needs organizations, and will always be remembered for his devotion and love of dogs. He was a former communicant of St. Gabriel's Church, and a communicant of the Church of Saint Adalbert, where he became a lifelong friend of Fr. John Malecki. Casimir was predeceased by his wife, Genevieve Nowicki Krystyniak, she died in November 2010. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Sylvia Morrison, and Celia Lechna. He is survived by a daughter, Laurie and her husband, Robert Zebrowski, DDS of Silver Springs, MD; two sisters, Isabelle Gorga of Schenectady, and Casimira "Kay" Szatowski of Mechanicsville, MD; three grandchildren, Caroline, Jacob and Marcus Zebrowski; her caregiver, Brenda Tsakanikas; and beloved companion, Daisy. Funeral service, Monday, 10:30 from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, and 11 at the Church of Saint Adalbert, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 at the funeral home. Interment, St. Adalbert Cemetery, Rotterdam.
