Obituary of Katherine LaJeunesse

Katherine E. LaJeunesse, 98, of Van Cortland St., died Friday, August 12, 2011 at the home of her son in Galway, after a short illness. Katherine was born on March 31, 1913, and educated in Schenectady, the daughter of Charles and Anna Kirschberger. At one time, she was a hairdresser. Katherine was dedicated and devoted to her family and had been a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, George LaJeunesse; he died in 1996. She is survived by two children, George C. LaJeunesse of Galway, and Joan (Robert) Kopczewski of Aurora, OH; six grandchildren, Brian LaJeunesse, Michelle (Mark) Bombard, Greg (Kim) Kopczewski Kaye, Michael (Camille) Kopczewski, Renee Kopczewski, and Nicole (Mark) Radick; eight great-grandchildren, Treavor, Tyler, Cole, Will, Olivia, Michaela, Melina and Isabelle. She was predeceased by two sisters, June DeAngelis and Caroline Wolf; and daughter-in-law, Jane LaJeunesse. Funeral service Wednesday morning, 11 a.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 at the funeral home. Interment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
