Carolyn Langley Obituary

Carolyn W. Langley, 90, formerly of Sumner Ave., died Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Ellis Hospital, after a short illness. Mrs. Langley was born in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Harold and Jesse Walker. She moved to Schenectady as a child and was a graduate of Ellis Hospital School of Nursing. Carolyn worked in the nursing field for many years, having worked at Ellis Hospital, and Dr. George Reich M.D. medical office, and several other locations through the years. Carolyn was married to Robert Langley; he died in 1992. She is survived by four children, Carol (Bob) Snyder of Rotterdam, Susan (Tom) McLaughlin of Glenville, Gary (Linda Simmons) Langley and Richard Langley, both of Portsmouth, NH; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jane Rogers; and nephew, Larry Fretto. Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Ellis Hospital Foundation, 1101 Nott St., Schenectady, NY 12308. Carolyn's family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and health care providers who cared for their mother at Glendale Nursing Home on C-1 and at Ellis Hospital on C-4.
