Obituary of William Lantz

William E. Lantz, 79, passd away Wednesday December 14, 2011 at his home in Florida after a long illness. William "Bill" was born in Schenectady the son of the late John and Jessie Lantz and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Nott Terrace High School and attended Siena College. Bill worked for GE as a Machinist in the main plant for eight years and then in purchasing and cost estimating at Knolls Atomic Power Lab for thirty-two years, retiring after forty years of service to GE. He was a graduate of the G E Apprentice Machinist Course and a member of G E Apprentice Alumni Association. Bill enjoyed travel and square dancing and was a former member of the Heldeberg Twirlers. He spent time outdoors, hunting, boating and golfing. He was also an avid lover and rider of horses. Bill is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years Rose M. Lantz, children Jeffrety J. Lantz of Ballston Spa and Cheryl E. Mazzariello of Albany, grandchildren Cody Lantz, Rachel Krosky and Brian Krosky, brother John C. Lantz and three nieces. He was predeceased by his first wife Fran Lantz. The funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday at the Daly Funeral Home 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours will be Sunday 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
