Obituary of Linda Laurien

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Linda Laurien, 63, passed peacefully from this world on July 14, 2011, after a long illness. Born in Baldwinsville, NY on September 27, 1947, to the late Arthur and Kathryn Laurien, Linda relocated to the Capital District in 1971. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Lindsay Anne Zamek of Schenectady, NY, and Erika Kathryn Zamek of White Plains, NY, for her devotion during their childhood years and her continued support and love through their adult lives. Once her daughters were grown, Linda focused on improving her community, serving on the Metroplex team and by supporting her peers through her work at MVP. Linda's recent years were spent as a key member of the team at the Regional Food Bank, continuing her work to improve the lives of those around her. Linda was an avid cook, baker, and seamstress. She loved needlework, knitting, crafts, gardening and last but not least, her cats. Linda is survived by her daughters and her feline companions, Susie, Sonny, and Chloe. A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, located in Latham, NY.
