Raymond Leon, 78, of Ilion, NY, passed away Monday, December 12, 2011 after a short illness surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Ross and Anne (Brounstein) Leone. Raymond served his country in the U.S. Army, and worked as a school psychologist in Danbury, CT, and for BOCES as a psychologist in the Schalmont and Niskayuna School districts. Raymond moved to Maine and worked as a school psychologist and an evaluator in a hospital setting. He is survived by his children, David (Teresa) Leon, Schenectady, Seth Leone, Los Angeles, CA, Rachel Leon (David Bauder) Croton-on-Hudson. He leaves four grandchildren, Sophie, Ben, Mimi and David. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Mabel Leone of Schenectady, NY. He leaves behind a community of friends in Ilion, NY, and his best friends, Charley Gooding and Bruce, and his bird dog, Tug. Funeral service will begin promptly Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. A military burial will take place at Saratoga National Cemetery.
