Obituary of Olive Luczka

Olive Carter Luczka, of Pearse Rd., died Friday, May 27, 2011, at Ellis Hospital. Olive was born in Wilkes Barre, PA and graduated from the Gouverneur, NY schools, where she moved with her parents, William and Annie Carter, as a child. She moved to Schenectady many years ago and worked as a clerk for the General Electric Co. She was a member of the GE Women's Club, the GE Quarter Century Club, the GE Choir and was a longtime member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, where she served for many years as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the church choir. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, John "Jack" Luczka; and nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral service Thursday morning 9:15 from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 10 a.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church where the Eucharist of Resurrection will be celebrated. Calling hours Wednesday evening 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Interment will be Saturday, 12 noon, in Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur, NY.
