Elizabeth "Betty" Nennstiel Buechler Lueck, 93, formerly of Scotia and Rexford, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center, Guilderland, surrounded by family. Elizabeth was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Edwin and Anna Nennstiel. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy and Albany Business College. Elizabeth had worked for the Lady Lee Shop and for the NYS Dept. of Public Works. Betty will always be remembered for her compassion, spirituality, kindness and understanding to those whose lives she touched. She was a devoted wife, marrying Joseph A. Buechler in 1937. Together, they raised their family of seven in Scotia, until his death in 1969. She later married the late Manfred K. Lueck; they resided in Rexford for many years. Elizabeth was predeceased by son, Joseph F. Buechler; her daughter, Mary E. Bethka; an infant daughter, Anita; and her sister, Marie B. Rock. Elizabeth is survived by her children, Linda (Frank) Waddington of Rotterdam, David (Rosemary) Buechler of Hernando, FL, Jeanne Rando of Cohoes, Barbara Cooper of Clifton Park, and Bernice (Norm) Parks of Guilderland. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and a stepson, Fred Lueck of Washington, UT. Betty was a lifelong Communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Schenectady, and was a member of their choir, the Rosary Altar Society and the United Women Unlimited. She was a charter member of the Third Order of the Discalced Carmelites. Funeral service, Saturday morning, 9 a.m. from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, and 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Friday afternoon, 4 to 8 in the evening. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church Resoration Fund, 225 LaFayette St., Schenectady, NY 12305.
