Elizabeth R. Lynch, 85, formerly of Schuyler St., died Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center. Elizabeth was born and educated in Herkimer, the daughter of Joseph and Bessie Widmer. She moved to Schenectady in 1951, worked for many years for New York State Department of Education and had been active in Rotterdam politics for many years. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Lynch, in 2006. Elizabeth is survived by two children, Thomas (Gloria) Lynch, and Catherine (Ray) Rapisarda; siblings, Joseph Widmer, Winifred Downey, Rosemary Pierce and twin, Robert Widmer; grandchildren, Walter, Keven and Sergio Lynch, and Juli Jamison; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Dorothy, Isabel and Marjorie. Funeral service Friday 12 noon at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A calling hour will be held from 11 to 12 at the funeral home. Interment, Vale Cemetery, Schenectady.
