John J. Madelone, 78, of Patricia Lane, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at home. John was born and educated in Schenectady. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War, earning two Bronze Stars. For many years he worked for several dairy companies including Bellevue, Dairylee and H.P. Hood, retiring many years ago. He had been a member of American Legion Post 1450. John was married to Sally Peck Madelone, they married in 1955, she died in 2008. He is survived by two children, Jack (Kathy) Madelone and Amy (Jay) Maxfield; two sisters, Mary Malpass and Dorothy Madelone; two grandchildren, Jake Madelone and Krisite Maxfield and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services Friday morning 10:15 at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A calling hour will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 at the funeral home.
