Obituary of Bernadette Martin

Please share a memory of Bernadette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bernadette Cecilia (Bernie) Martin, surrounded with her loving family, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was 69 years old. Bernadette was born in Albany on May 17, 1941, a daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Roth) Beauregard. Bernie was a loving wife, mother and grandma who loved the company of her family. She enjoyed life to its fullest, whether it was spending time with the girls of the Sacandaga Red Hatter's club, at one of her grandchildren's numerous sporting events and dance recitals, or just enjoying a relaxing boat ride on Sacandaga Lake with her husband, Frank. She enjoyed all outdoor activities, was an avid gardener, and an accomplished cook and baker; Bernie was never afraid to try a new recipe. She also enjoyed glass painting, and volunteering for Meals on Wheels. To know Bernie was indeed to love her, and her kind smile, quick wit, and loving spirit will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Francis "Frank" Martin; her daughters, Christine (Mark) Quinn of Schenectady, and Barbara Truscello of Gansevoort; her sons, Francis (Francine) Truscello of Livermore, California, and Anthony (Kathleen) Truscello of Scotia; her granddaughter, Kalla Shear; and her grandsons, Ryan and Justin Quinn of Schenectady; her sisters, Roseanne (Richard) Carty of Albany, and Gail Bernard of Florida; her step-siblings, Cathy Sutton of Texas and Ronald Beauregard of Florida; several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, Bernie was predeceased by her brother, Arthur "Junior" Beauregard; and her brother-in-law, William Bernard. Her family wishes to express their deepest thanks for their wonderful care to Dr. Thomas Morrisey and his staff at the Women's Cancer Care offices in Albany, for their warm smiles, words of encouragement, help and guidance; and to the staff at the St. Peter's Hospice Inn, for their professional care and kindness. Contributions can be made in Bernie's name to the American Cancer Society of Albany/Ovarian Cancer Research. There will be no calling hours.
